Detailed ItineraryDay 1 Chandigarh Arrive
Chandigarh at 1030 hrs by Shatabadi. Check in to the hotel. Half day
sightseeing (visit Rock Garden, Moghul Gardens at Pinjore, Lake, etc)
Day 2 Anandpur Saheb Drive to Anandpur Saheb the birthplace of
Sikhism. Lunch in the community langer. Drive to the village. The villagers
will receive the group in the traditional style with Dhole and band. At
night Interaction with villagers around a bonfire. Stay in the haveli.
Day 3 Anandpur Saheb Early morning visit the houses to see and
feel how the day in the village starts. The ladies of the House will light
their hearths with cowdung and leaves. Those interested will accompany The
villagers to the fields to experience farming being done by traditional
method with bullocks. Some can go to the village potters house for making
earthen pitchers. Evening with villagers.
Day 4 Anandpur
Saheb Interaction with village panchayat and some exploration of
the nearby villages. After lunch a trip to the river for some angling or
jungle walks.
Day 5 Anandpur Saheb Drive to district
headquarters to the institute of Vedic study. For those who believe a trip
to the House of the priests who posses the ancient manuscript written by
Sage Bhrigu foretelling the Future. Evening drive back to the village.
Day 6 Amritsar Transfer to Amritsar. Check into hotel. Evening
visit the world famous Golden temple, the most Sacred temple of the Sikhs.
Day 7 Amritsar Visit the old city & see the. The
famous Jallianwala bagh & Rambagh . Have a look at the museum built by
Maharaja Ranjit singh. This contains weapons dating back to the mughal era.
Day 8 Transfer to Delhi by ShatabadiOptions which
can be added are a visit to Patiala,/ Sirhind ( the pathan style tomb of Mir
Miran ) Jwalamukhi (the volcano temple ) Dharamsala the seat of His Holiness
Dalai Lama.
Detailed ItineraryDay 1 Agra Delhi to Agra.
Visit the Taj Mahal .
Day 2 Pahargarh Agra to
Pahargarh Fort. Drive approx.4 hrs evening see the village folk dances. Stay
at the fort.
Day 3 Pahargarh Camel safari through
the villages to see the cave paintings along the Asan river, (these
Paintings go back to the time when humans were living in the caves. Lunch to
be served in the Jungle. Over night at the fort.
Day 4
Baraikot Early morning walk to the ramparts of the fort and see the
village stir from its sleep. The chimes of cattles going to the jungle.
Later day explore the village afternoon visit to the ruins of the Baraikot
fort in the jungle. Evening tea on the ramparts of the fort. The cattles
which left in the morning are coming back down the hill experience the
Indian gowduli.
Day 5 Palpur Transfer to Palpur
wildlife sanctuary.
Day 6 Palpur Palpur. Drive
through the jungle to see the wild life. Visit the Adivasi (Tribal village).
Drive to Shivpuri Wildlife sanctuary overnight hotel.
Day 7
Chanderi Early morning drive in the sanctuary after late breakfast
drive of to Chanderi the ancient capital of Chandela kings the builders of
Khajurao temples overnight at PWD guesthouse or camp.
Day 8
Chanderi Explore Chanderi the ancient halt of the Moghul army that
went to conquer the deccan plateau. Huge 12th-13th century Jain carvings
approximately 20 feet tall cut out in the hillside. Explore the caves. Visit
the houses where world famous Chanderi saris are made. See Bidis the Indian
cigar being made. Later in the evening drive to Tikamgarh overnight at the
rest house/farmhouse/camp.
Day 9 Orcha Visit the 5th
century Sun temple the bath of the queen of Orcha, Bottle house built by the
Maharaja of Orcha of empty liquor bottles.
Day 10 Khajurao
Drive to Khajurao enroute a brief stop over at Baldev Garh fort on the bank
of the lake. Evening checkinto the hotel.
Day 11 Khajurao
Explore Khajurao overnight hotel.
Day 12 Khajurao
Drive to Panna national park lunch at tree house. Overnight Khajurao.
Day 13 Orcha Drive off to Jhansi to catch the evening train
enroute stop over at Orcha.
Bundelkhand is a part of central
India.The journey starts by train to Jhansi and a visit to Orcha the Capital
of the Bundhela kingsfrom where we proceed to Tikamgarh the present seat of
Maharaja of Orcha. We visit the Queens bath and the 5th century Sun Temple
and the Bottle House made by the maharaja. In the evening folk dances of the
region. Next we visit Chandheri from where the Chandela kings who made the
temples of Khajurao originated we visit the cottage industries where Beedi
the Indian cigar is made or the weavers house where embroidered saris are
made before leaving for Khajurao. From Khajurao we leave for Gwalior enroute
visiting Datia Palace which was as the legend goes an inspiration for
Luteyen the architect of British Delhi. The tour is wound up by visit to
Agra Jaipur and finally Delhi.
From the airport we move straight to
the village which is just 3 hours drive from Delhi next day we go
sightseeing to the Bangladeshi refugees hamlet to see intricate work in jute
and reds. Their mastery in making thatched roof for their houses is
commendable. We also visit the Corbet National Park and Haridwar the city on
the Ganges.You also get a chance to try your skill at white water rafting
and finally visit The Taj and Jaipur the city of Forts and Palaces before
coming back to Delhi.
